Advanced Leadership Foundation
Future of Politics Summit
On 30 September and 1 October 2021, the auditorium of the University of Nova hosted the Summit The Future of Politics, organized by Advanced Leadership Foundation and attended by internationally renowned speakers, who shared their views on several issues to be highlighted.
Objective
The final goal of the First Summit The Future of Politics was beyond discussing some of the most urgent issues. The event’s milestone made participants commit themselves to a set of rules of good ethical political behavior that were set out in the “Cascais Declaration for Ethics Policy”. This statement is a “living” document that will have more support over time, backed by politicians, media and intellectuals from around the world.
The Future of Politics Summit emerged as a result of a strategic alliance between the Municipality of Cascais, as the main sponsor, Advanced Leadership Foundation, as an organizer, and other key partners, joining in an alliance to make this event possible over the following years.
The Idea
- Organize a 2-day summit;
- To bring together political, business and social leaders from around the world to address several front-line issues;
- Invite future business, political and civil society leaders from around the world to be present
Around the world, citizens expect more from politicians and governments on a wide range of issues. From ethics and transparency to the climate crisis, through the impacts of automation and artificial intelligence on the future of work, through the fight against “fake news…” The Future of Politics Summit provided a unique forum that brought together political, business and social leaders from around the world to address these and other cutting-edge issues.
Until now, political leaders had not had an unofficial event that would allow them relevant debates, across the ideological spectrum, on the most pressing issues of today.The Cascais Summit on the future of politics filled that gap.
As host and main sponsor, the municipality of Cascais (20 km from Lisbon), together with the Advanced Leadership Foundation, worked together to organize the Summit.
