Another year was the Amazon Storyteller Literary Prize contest in its 11th edition, with a prize for the winner of 10,000€, a book advertising campaign directed by Amazon and the possibility of adapting the book to audiobook with Amazon Audible.
In October, the awards ceremony was held where the 5 finalists and the jury of the event composed by Juan Gómez Jurado, Fernando Bonete and Federico Buyolo attended.
Objective
- Strengthen Amazon and Kindle’s position as cultural pioneers.
- Support, reward and give visibility to independent writers who are committed to publishing their works through Amazon’s self-publishing tool – Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).
- Highlight the possibilities offered by Amazon as an editorial platform.
The Idea
On the occasion of the award ceremony of the 11th Edition of the Amazon Storyteller Literary Prize, we chose the Ortega Marañón Foundation, an institution dedicated to disseminating culture, education and research, and accessible to show what Amazon and Kindle suppose for the authors. A space that also houses the Amazon KDP Autopublication Library, the first library of self-published authors in our country that was born with the aim of bringing the world of self-publication to a larger audience and analyzing the relevance of this new model of creation in the Spanish literary fabric.
This award reflects what Amazon’s editorial tool allows its users to: discover the power of the stories they carry within.
The event held at the end of October was presented by Marta Fernández, where 80 guests attended, among jurors, finalists with their families and media, and was broadcast on streaming for all LATAM, from where many participants came, as in each edition, in addition to one of the finalists.
In addition to the awards ceremony and the presentation of the works, a round table was held with the jury and the emotional speech of the winner.
The event was closed with a cocktail and book signing by the finalists to all attendees
